Join in bringing back wildlife to your outdoor environment!
Remember the summer nights when the fireflies seemed more plentiful than the stars? And, reduce your lawn care responsibilities at the same time, regardless of size (urban, surburban, farm).
Catherine Zimmerman, award winning photographer, filmaker, author, horticulturist and sustainable landscape designer will be presenting a two-part workshop on Saturday, September 8.
11 AM - 12:30 PM In the morning session Catherine will present meadowscaping
as a lawn alternative. She explains why meadow and prairie
habitats are so beneficial both economically and
environmentally as well as giving a step-by-step primer on
reducing lawn size and organically installing a beautiful
meadow in your own yard. No space is too small!
12:30 - 1:30PM Time for lunch - bring your own, order with your
workshop registration ticket(s)* or head to a local restaurant.
Lunch order deadline through the Nursery is 10 am on 8/31.
1: 30 - 3:30PM The afternoon session is a hands-on-workshop where both
seeding and live plant installation will be demonstrated.
Participants will "dig in" and plant a 40 by 25 foot meadow!
If you have a garden trowel or bulb planter, please bring these
tools with you for the afternoon session. And, if you want to bring
your own lawn chair, for the morning & afternoon sessions, that's okay!
Copies of Catherine's DVD Urban & Suburban Meadows is included with registration fee; 1 DVD per either single or couples ticket purchase. In addition copies of Catherine's book will be available to purchase and autograph.
